Luba Kotzeva

Luba Kotzeva, Managing Director, co-heads Lazard’s European Energy and Renewables group. Luba leads on M&A, strategic and capital raise advice to power, utilities, renewables, infrastructure and energy transition companies and investors.

Luba and her fast growing London based team are currently advising on transactions involving onshore wind, solar and battery storage, fixed and floating offshore wind, gas plants, nuclear, retail, carbon capture, hydrogen, e-mobility and utility services.

Luba has over 24 years of experience of providing strategic and transaction advice to corporate Boards, executives and governments. Prior to Lazard, Luba was at Rothschild & Co.

She has advised on over £60bn of M&A and capital raising transactions relating to over 60GW of power capacity of which >75% clean power generation in addition to regulated utilities and network deals. Transaction experience includes advising DIF on acquisition of largest UK solar and BESS portfolio, advising on sale of Bulb to Octopus, advising on nuclear projects in Belgium, UK, Hungary, Czech Republic including on HPC and Sizewell C, advising on Vattenfall’s acquisition of Nuon, on sale of British Energy to EDF, on sale of National Grid’s gas distribution networks.
