After 8 years working in Ireland Robert is back in the U.K. working with Solar for Schools. Driving forward a planned expansion from 200 UK schools to 1000.

Solar Options for Schools Ltd helps schools decarbonise with solar energy. The company funds, designs, installs, and operates solar panels on schools’ roofs. Additionally, Solar Options for Schools uses solar panels as an educational instrument, offering teaching modules and experimental kits for students of all ages to learn about physics, engineering, energy, and sustainability

The company manages grants from a number of organisations and puts the money towards projects in areas of deprivation. Contributors from the Solar PV sector, especially large scale developers wishing to discharge community benefits would be welcome.

Robert was co-owner of Solar Electric based in Wexford ROI from 2015 – 2023. He now sits on the board as a non-exec director. Since Pinergy invested in Solar Electric the company was able to take advantage of the growing demand for high-quality commercial and domestic Solar PV. It is one of a handful of serious players in both market sectors.

Robert was MD of Conergy UK from 2010-2014. He was a participant in the birth of the Solar PV sector in UK. Conergy took a leading position as an EPC and co-developer of projects across England and Wales.
