Ray developed designs to integrate Solar into Buildings, starting in 1990 on UK and European Solar demonstration projects – many of which achieved Awards – First Solar Integrated Façade – First Commercial Building – First Grid Connected Ground Mount. Rolled out BP Solar Forecourt Canopy program in Europe and USA.

Advised UK Government on programs to prove Solar would work in the UK which resulted in the Feed in Tariff stimulation program.

Advised many Companies, Developers and Manufacturers that grew into the Global Solar Industry.

Once past a GW deployed in the UK funding changed to ROC’s and continued the growth on Building Roofs and Ground Mounts.

Co- Chaired the UK Solar Strategy that resulted in a total of 14GW being deployed.

Developed Battery Storage opportunities moving Solar Energy to Peak Times and assisting in resolving Grid issues.

Introduction of Electric Vehicles charged by Renewable Energy was the Transport for the Future along with significant job opportunities.

Advised on the reintroduction of Onshore Wind on the basis that Solar, Wind and Storage would achieve 70% of UK Electricity requirements at the lowest cost.

Still advising BEIS / DES-NZ on a Roadmap to achieve 70GW by 2035 on Roofs and Ground.
