Stuart joined Birketts in June 2023 and is a Partner in the Real Estate Division with a practice focused solely on energy and utilities.

Stuart has worked for over 20 years in the energy sector and has experience of a wide range of technologies but with a core focus on solar, battery, wind, EV/e-HGV infrastructure and hydrogen projects.

Stuart acts for both developers and funders and advises on options for lease and freehold purchase, easements and certificates of title. Stuart is also keen to use legal tech where this benefits the client and examples of this include a lease portfolio review on certain key terms of over 3500 leases and setting up client sites that allow instructions to be issued ensuring uniformity of instruction across panel firms and key date alerts.
